オスティア・ジャパン衣は「温故知新」をコンセプトに、日本の歴史と多くの伝統文化が残る京都に生まれました。
　京都には、色鮮やかに染め上げられる、京友禅染を初め古くから伝わる染色技法と、藍、柿渋に代表される自然の植物から作られる染料、織物の技術などの古い技法が息づいています。
　創業以来、様々なご縁で出会った技法や職人たちと共に、心・想いを込め作品作りを行い、日本の地で生まれる日本を大切に思う心や誇り、それを形にする職人の技を現代のカジュアルウェアに生かし伝えています。

　 不変として考えていることは、古（いにしえ）の人たちが意味を持って創り出した物を現代に伝えることです。そして我々は服の骨董品を作りたいと考えています。
　職人が心を込めて一枚一枚作り上げたものは、一つとして同じものはありません。

　今出逢われた作品が、この先いつかあなただけの骨董品となることを願っています。

It seems that worldwide there is a gradually spreading movement to value again traditional culture.

Whether this is the desire by those who cannot keep up with the pace of change to return to yesteryears,
or a desire to reclaim things that have been lost under the shadow of convenience…
You could call this just one idea of living humanity,
but we think its true meaning is not to gloss over the surface,
but rather to make yourself happy. Nothing is more natural than doing so.

Craftsmanship is a sensory realm,
and just as a wild stitch can be more attractive than a neatly aligned seam the heart may throb more for rough nonconformity than for pristine fabric.

The flavor found only in old items interwoven with the thread of time and the newest model loom that produces exactly what you want
are both infinitely precious partners.

Kyoto is exceptional as a location gathering
dying techniques unique to Japan that take time and effort shown off by tattered and Boro clothes that display indigo gradations
and kimonos with the colorful Yuzen dying process, endlessly praised by people around the world.

This is because Kyoto is a place where clothes making enters the field of fine arts, not just home economics.
In this land of many temples, the teachings of Zen Buddhism also infuse lessons into people’s daily lives.

Ending as cotton (MOMEN-OJO)

Cotton wraps softly around people’s skin, performing a job and eventually wearing out,
becoming useful as a rag before ultimately passing away as fibers…

This expression also teaches people how to live;
to always be kind to others even at one’s own expense, only for the sake of others.

Every day cloth is near at hand, and we are grateful for this work that reminds us of that fact.
And we treasure doing the fieldwork that lets us see with our own eyes of what yarn the cloth is spun,
and at the hands of what kind of craftsman it was formed.

“Authentic things sparkle nonchalantly forever.”
These words, learned from a sermon long ago, are even today a spontaneous judge of each item at its moment of completion,
deciding whether that creation brings a smile to our faces, or causes us to keep silent with a somber expression.
