This is a dyeing technique which fixes a pattern made by stamping dye on to material and then processing with heat and water.
This techniqye has been used in calico Yuzen-style dyeing since ancient times in Japan.
Yokohama stencil dyed prints are a balance of delicate pattern creation and robustness in that the colour does not easily fade.
